Set & Atmosphere – 10

As the name suggests, they’ve transformed an entire house into an escape and it’s nothing short of magical. Every room has its own personality with fantastical décor that feels full of character. Lighting and sound are spot on, and the special effects make the whole space feel enchanted. Far larger than your typical escape game, and each area offers a fresh, immersive vibe.

Pro tip: Avoid booking in the peak of summer. With no AC, even two fans running couldn’t keep us from getting very warm.

Story & Immersion – 10

The whimsical tale of Uncle Cornelius provides just enough narrative to give your journey purpose without overcomplicating things. Moving between the different rooms of the house feels like stepping into new chapters of a storybook, with magical, touch-activated surprises replacing traditional lock-and-key moments. It’s easy to see why this sits at #16 on the TERPECA list. It’s truly one of a kind and a standout in Geneva.

Puzzles & Mechanics – 8

While the puzzle count isn’t huge, each one feeds into larger arcs that shape the overall story. The variety is delightful: physical skill challenges, clever timing, and more. There’s a real joy in seeing how spaces evolve as you progress. We did run into a couple of dings:

  • One puzzle required significant physical strength, which left us stuck for a bit.

  • A few clues were worn or hard to see, slowing down our progress.

Still, the craftsmanship and integration into the setting made them all feel rewarding to solve.

Flow – 8.5

The experience is mostly smooth and intuitive. The size of the space makes for satisfying reveals. The moments of being stuck came more from physical or visibility challenges rather than unclear logic, which speaks to the solid design.

Verdict – 9.1

The House of Uncle Cornelius is a masterclass in large-scale, immersive escape design. It blends theatrical set dressing, magical effects, and creative puzzle arcs into an unforgettable adventure. A must-do in Geneva, and easily a step above Trip Trap’s already strong lineup.
