Set & Atmosphere – 7.5

Creepy lighting, chilling ambience, and unsettling effects make The Girl’s Room properly haunting. There’s one reveal in particular that made me go “oh helllll no." Expect tight spaces, climbing, and forced separation from your partner at times, which adds to the unease.

Story & Immersion – 6.5

The narrative leans on the well-worn “creepy, abused ghost girl” trope, with some video exposition sprinkled in. The story wasn’t too tightly tied to the puzzles, and I often found myself wishing the ghost would be more helpful since we were supposedly trying to help her. The scares and atmosphere do much of the heavy lifting here. That said, the room has since been updated into The Girl’s Room 2.0, so current players may encounter new story elements and spookier improvements.

Puzzles & Mechanics – 6

The puzzles are solid but sparse, as is common in horror-style rooms where the atmosphere is the star. A few leaps of logic disrupted flow, and one puzzle required remembering a number sequence from earlier — something that pulled us out of the moment. Still, the effects were strong enough that the puzzles served their role in supporting the tension.

Flow – 6.5

For the most part, progression was straightforward, but the few logic gaps and memory-reliant puzzles broke immersion at times. The mandatory partner separation also slowed things down as communication became trickier in tense situations. It’s not a smooth ride, but that may be part of the intended unnerving design.

Verdict – 6.7

The Girl’s Room delivers a creepy, haunted-house escape with unsettling reveals and strong environmental design. While the puzzles and story don’t quite hold up to the atmosphere, it’s still a memorable experience, especially for players who enjoy being scared. If you’re not into separation, tight spaces, or jump scares, you might want to skip it. We'd recommend making a trip and doing The Laboratory, The Girl's Room and The Dome at Mama Bazooka (in that order!)
