Set & Atmosphere – 10
Absolutely stunning. This room achieves the elusive “mindfuck” moments that so many Benelux escape rooms strive for. The set is expansive, detailed, and so well-crafted that even a year later, I can vividly recall every space we stepped into. Each reveal is jaw-dropping, and the level of immersion is unmatched. It’s no surprise this room once held the #1 spot on the TERPECA list; it truly lives up to the hype.
Story & Immersion – 10
This is probably the best marriage of story and gameplay we’ve ever experienced. While there are dark and spooky themes woven into the tale, the game itself is not scary — instead, it’s mysterious, compelling, and rich in atmosphere. The audio, set design, and narrative depth draw you fully into the experience. Every puzzle ties into the overarching mystery, building a sense of progression and dread that keeps you fully invested until the epic finale.
Puzzles & Mechanics – 9
The puzzles are fantastic — thoughtful, collaborative, and deeply tied to the story. Some involve satisfying repetition that reinforces narrative themes, while others demand true teamwork. While the overall puzzle count isn’t especially high, the quality more than makes up for it. The design language evolves as you play, teaching you how to think within the room’s universe.
Flow – 10
Seamless. The room unfolds with perfect pacing, and each progression feels both surprising and inevitable in hindsight. The transitions between spaces and story beats are awe-inspiring and left us speechless. We left buzzing and talked about it for hours afterward: a true hallmark of an exceptional escape.
Verdict – 9.8
Molly’s Game is a masterpiece of escape room design. It's expansive, immersive, and unforgettable. With world-class set design, flawless storytelling, and puzzles that elevate rather than interrupt the narrative, it’s a must-play experience and easily one of the best we’ve ever done!
Travel tip: It's about an hour by train from Amsterdam - but we'd recommend staying in the Hague and working your way down to visiting Rotterdam if you haven't been before!
