2-6 players; perfect for 2. 6 felt like way too many! I'd say this room is 4-people max.

Set & Atmosphere – 7

The whimsical fairy tale theme comes through in its variety of environments. You do get to travel between multiple "worlds," but compared to newer games like The Fantastic Warehouse, this one’s age is showing. Some props are worn, and while the sets still charm, they lack the wow factor and cohesion of more modern builds.

Story & Immersion – 6

The premise is fun, but our GM/actor this time delivered a very wordy performance. Long explanations bogged down the pace, and the delivery sometimes felt convoluted, making it harder to stay engaged. Still, the theme is lighthearted, and younger or fantasy-loving groups might enjoy the tone.

Puzzles & Mechanics – 7

The puzzles skew easy and are heavily weighted toward discovery (finding hidden objects and clues in the environment.) This made things tricky with six people crammed into smaller spaces; at times, we knew exactly what to do but physically couldn’t find or see the needed piece. The opening puzzle was creative and fun, but dragged on longer than it needed to. The game is very linear, with minimal parallelism, meaning larger groups will often have people standing around.

Flow – 7

Despite the linear structure, progression was generally smooth once we had all the pieces in hand. The bottlenecks were less about logic and more about the search-heavy nature of the game, which can be frustrating in tight spaces. The lack of puzzle variety compared to the room’s length made the pacing feel uneven.

Verdict – 6.75

Fairy Tale Regulations is still a fun, family-friendly experience. With its age showing, linear gameplay, and a reliance on search-heavy puzzles, this one is probably best enjoyed with a smaller group and by players who don’t mind a few longer, more drawn-out moments.
